This week at Etta Place: Trivia Night, Stitch & Bitch, and $10 Bloody Marys are back. Plus, our Annual Apple Tasting event is Saturday from 3-5 PM! We'll have 15 heritage apples from our orchards out to be tasted. We'll set up in the parking lot, making the event kid friendly too! Hope to see you there!

The Third Meeting of The Royal Society of Torrey will be held tonight, Wed Sep 25 at 7PM.⁠

Our speaker will be Sushiel Keswani who will speak on “Living with Diabetes.”⁠
⁠
The Royal Society of Torrey is founded on the principles behind the Royal Society of London for Improving Natural Knowledge.⁠
⁠
Basically, we envision a relaxed environment where folks can present and discuss ideas in the sciences, medicine, engineering, and the like. ⁠
⁠
The Society will usually meet at 7PM on the last Wednesday of each month. Feel free to invite your friends and colleagues.⁠
⁠
We will have audiovisual resources, wifi, comfortable seating and a relaxed structure. After a brief introduction, we will have a presentation and discussion by one of our members lasting 45-60 minutes.⁠

As Etta Place Cidery is also a full bar, alcohol is permitted. ⁠
⁠
Membership are offered to those with scientific backgrounds, broadly considered. Members will be permitted to speak and invite speakers.⁠
⁠
What makes us Royal? At the first meeting we received our charter from the 2024 Wassail Queen of Stray Arrow Ranch Orchards: Her Highness Queen Gena.⁠

Every meeting will formally begin by drinking the Queen’s health, followed by a brief introduction of those gathered, and a discussion of future topics of interest we may wish to have presented. ⁠

Sunday, Ann and Robert will be back in SLC, pouring a selection of ciders and mead at Snail Fest 2024. This annual gathering of Utah’s Slow Food Snails will be at The Neighborhood Hive from 5:30-8:30 PM, Sun Sept 22. We’re looking forward to gathering with Snail of Approval awardees such as Caputo’s Market & Deli, Liberty Heights Fresh, Beehive Cheese, and more local legends! Pups on the Patio, a puppy/people social and CCAW

Pups on the Patio, a puppy/people social and CCAW fundraiser, is back this Sunday, 5-7 PM. Weather permitting, we'll have the splash pool out for canine soaking. Don't have a pup of your own? No PAW-blem! CCAW will bring their adoption board. And you can buy a $10 Round for Hounds (ie, direct donations to Color Country Animal Welfare).
