We can’t wait to meet you! As soon as we have a place to put you, that is. While we are waiting for our building, our permits and our first bottling, we host a few annual events in Torrey:

(In these times of COVID-19, check as we approach the date for updates to our schedule.)

Grafting workshop: in 2019 we are grafting with the Wayne County 4H club as part of the “Sparking Humanities Conversations” program. We will also be demonstrating grafting at a community dinner in March.

Apple Days: Torrey’s biggest annual event and always held the first Saturday in July. See our entry in the parade!

Apple tasting: we offer an annual apple tasting, a guided gustatory experience through 15-20 heritage and cider varieties. At the end, participants vote for their favorites. If we don’t already grow the winner, we add it to our orchards. In 2019, our Torrey tasting will be sponsored by the Entrada Institute on Saturday October 5 at 2 pm at the Torrey Town pavilion, no tickets required. New this year, we are also hosting a free but ticketed tasting in Salt Lake City on October 23 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Thyme and Place on 900 South. If the apple crop is a complete failure, we substitute a honey tasting from our hives and other local beekeepers’ crops.

Community Juicing Day: our biggest event of the year. Our juicing contractor, Northwest Mobile Juicing, sets up to produce juice (not alcohol) in 3 liter, pasteurized bag-in-a-box packaging. Bring your apples, or buy some from farmers markets vendors conveniently available in the parking lot, and take home shelf-stable juice. We will commence juicing on October 12, 2019, from 9-1pm. Check Facebook for the latest details.

Wassail!: the annual blessing of the trees, scaring off of evil spirits and general merriment in our orchards takes place the Saturday of the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.
